Feminismus und Hip Hop werden von vielen Menschen nicht unbedingt auf Anhieb miteinander in Verbindung gebracht. Dabei verfügt auch der feministische Rap über eine weit verzweigte Historie. Prof. Dr. Reyhan Şahin aka Lady Bitch Ray zeigt in ihrer interaktiven Lecture-Performance, wie sich Patriarchatskritik und Feminismus im Deutschrap entwickelt haben. Dabei bezieht sich die promovierte Sprachwissenschaftlerin auf etliche Song-Beispiele und Rap-Song-Analysen und lädt das Publikum ein zur Interaktion. Im Anschluss besteht dann noch Gelegenheit für transdisziplinären Austausch und beataffine Interaktion.
Reyhan Şahin hat im WS 2025/26 eine eineinhalbjährige Gastprofessur für Kulturwissenschaften im Studium Generale der UdK Berlin angetreten. Sie ist Sprachwissenschaftlerin, Semiotikerin sowie interdisziplinär arbeitende Islam-, Gender und Migrationsforscherin. Daneben ist Dr.in Şahin als Rapperin, Buch- und journalistische Autorin, Bildungsreferentin, Modedesignerin, Konzept und Performance-Künstlerin sowie Schauspielerin tätig. Ihre mit dem Deutschen Studienpreis gekrönte Doktorarbeit „Die Bedeutung des muslimischen Kopftuchs“ entspricht bis heute der einzigen Grundlagenforschung in diesem Forschungsgebiet.
